Harvard Study Concludes That Good Posture Leads to Confidence and Good Health for all Age Groups

Here is a section of a review of the Study in Wired Magazine:

“Sit up straight and listen: Amy Cuddy (Harvard Business School Faculty) has a plan to help you change your life. And its easy. The Harvard psychologist recently completed a study demonstrating that positioning our bodies a certain way doesn’t just tell people we’re powerful, it actually makes us more powerful. And she has the data to prove it: Standing tall directly influences our biochemistry, increasing testosterone, decreasing cortisol, and generally making us feel dominant. So pull back those shoulders and stretch out. Stand like Superman and you’ll become the Man of Steel.”

Another Study done at the University of Washington concludes that:

“Men with low testosterone levels after age 40 have a higher risk of death over a four-year period than those with normal levels of the hormone…” It is known that Low levels of testosterone can cause decreased muscle mass and bone density, insulin resistance, decreased sex drive, reduced energy, irritability and feelings of depression. All good reasons to use PostureSpecs to address poor posture and help maintain good posture.

Improving Posture is Good for Overall Health

Good posture is a vital aspect of living a healthy life! This is not only for the sake of a youthful appearance – a hunched back is one outcome of poor posture – but this is not the sort of look an older or taller person wants to show the world. As discussed in a recent article in Prevention magazine, bad posture can have serious and long-term health implications.

Our current lifestyle does little to promote good posture. So it is important that we take all steps we can to improve our posture to avoid looking and being unhealthy. Yet there are few products out there that help us to improve our posture. Those that purportedly do are often cumbersome old-fashioned braces that are difficult and uncomfortable to wear and offer little or no actual improvement.

OPPICS Corrects Bad Posture Using our Patented Specially Designed Lenses.

That’s why we created OPPICS! This is wearable tech at is most healthy. By using our eyewear in your normal daily activities you will improve your posture as our glasses and clip-on lenses gently and unobtrusively help you keep your head in a healthy upright position. This alleviates strain on the back and spine causing your posture to improve. Indeed, no less an authority than Kenneth K. Hansraj, Chief of Spine Surgery at New York Spine Surgery & Rehabilitation Medicine told in a research report on posture found in the Washington Post, that when one has their head down (that is not looking straight ahead with a level head position) they are adding as much as 60lbs of weight onto the cervical spine. This can lead to degeneration of the back and spine and cause both posture and other health ailments. Proper posture, says Dr. Hansraj, “is generally defined as aligning the ears with the shoulders while keeping the shoulder blades pulled back.” It is this very position that OPPICS help you naturally maintain.

OPPICS Eyewear Will Help Correct Posture – Effortlessly

Today, so many health improvement concepts involve a great deal of work – such as going to the gym or making regular trips to the doctor and chiropractor – or constant and uncomfortable changes to one’s lifestyle or current way of doing things. With OPPICS specially designed glasses and lenses, there is no effort required. This technology, patents pending, keeps your head in a proper straight forward and spine saving position without strain. This means that, FINALLY, you can make a serious improvement in both your physical appearance as well as your physical health with no exceptional effort required. If only the gym were that easy!

Here’s more insight from The Ultimate Guide To Good Posture: “Just what’s so terrible about having poor posture, besides not looking as sharp as you could? Quite a bit as it turns out. When you slouch or slump, so does your spine, leading to bad circulation. This can cause vertebrae to deteriorate over time. Chronic fatigue can also result. Coupled with circulation issues, the result can be early exhaustion. Chronic back, neck, and shoulder pain can also result from the strain of bad positioning. Fifty percent of working Americans suffer from back pain, and it’s the second most common reason for doctor visits. Twenty five percent of those with back pain suffer from a herniated disc, which may be caused by poor posture.”

Our eyewear will help you correct bad posture so that you too can have a healthy spine.

Here’s what the Cleveland Clinic has to say about posture:

What is good posture?

Posture is the position in which you hold your body upright against gravity while standing, sitting or lying down. Good posture involves training your body to stand, walk, sit and lie in positions where the least strain is placed on supporting muscles and ligaments during movement or weight-bearing activities. Proper posture:

  • Keeps bones and joints in the correct alignment so that muscles are being used properly.
  • Helps decrease the abnormal wearing of joint surfaces that could result in arthritis.
  • Decreases the stress on the ligaments holding the joints of the spine together.
  • Prevents the spine from becoming fixed in abnormal positions.
  • Prevents fatigue because muscles are being used more efficiently, allowing the body to use less energy.
  • Prevents strain or overuse problems.
  • Prevents backache and muscular pain.
  • Contributes to a good appearance.
